1. Understanding the issue<\/h5>

People living in poor communities lack any support system, that would offer them advice and guidance on handling challenging situations. In their local environment, they rarely have examples of people who have achieved success or escaped generational poverty. They do not know the unwritten rules of the middle class or their common ways of saving. The constant financial strain and daily struggle to survive result in lack of funds needed for managing unexpected situations or making crucial investments. Limited financial literacy and the temptation of fast solutions often lead to high-interest loans and a cycle of debt traps, further deepening their poverty.<\/p><\/div>

2. Our vision for the future<\/h5>

The Filip program involves 85 families, one work coach and 8 mentors, each employed on different employment contracts. In 2024, we aim to enhance the Filip program's know-how, improve the skills of our mentors, and build stronger relationships with important community figures. By 2030, our goal is to have 15 mentors, 2 work coaches, and around 200 families involved in the program. Selected family members will receive assistance from a work coach to find legal jobs, develop essential work habits (including regular attendance and interaction with employers), and acquire skills necessary for maintaining their job.<\/p><\/div>

3. Where are we going?<\/h5>

85 families are involved in the Filip program, with 8 mentors and 1 job skills coach working with them at various times. In 2024, we want to improve the know-how of the FILIP program, increase the competences of mentors and deepen relations with key actors in the communities. The vision for the far future (2030) is to have 15 mentors, 2 coaches and approximately 200 families involved. The work coach will help selected family members to obtain legal employment, build work habits (regular attendance, communication with the employer) and learn work tasks in order to maintain employment.<\/p><\/div><\/div> <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Supporting families in the Filip program requires an understanding of many complex issues caused by generational poverty. We work with families to find solutions to difficult life circumstances.<\/div>\r\n

We aim to develop a model of effective financial education within the challenging context of exclusion, that will have a real impact on the gradual and long-term improvement of families’ social situations. We strive to translate our practical findings and experiences into systemic solution recommendations. The experts we consult for legal and financial matters are included in the advisory team. The team consists of professionals specializing in debt management from both Slovakia and the Czech Republic, financial literacy experts from the 5pe\u0148az\u00ed initiative at the National Bank of Slovakia, legal specialists in consumer protection laws, and community social workers.<\/strong><\/div><\/p> <\/div>\n
